The Kinds And Functions Of Air Conditioner Parts

Air conditioner parts are vital to the whole air conditioning system. The parts make up the whole which is the air conditioning unit. If one part is missing, the air conditioning would not work properly or to best possible way it can.

It is important to know the air conditioner parts because it will give you an idea of what is wrong with your air conditioner if it is not working properly.

3 Major Air Conditioner Parts

There are three major air conditioner parts which are its evaporator, condenser, and compressor. These are the organs of an air conditioning unit.

These are also the major central air conditioner parts and Hvac or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. The volatile liquid of the air conditioner or Freon is heated or cooled first. Then it is compressed by the compressor which then turns into gas. The Freon is cooled and produces heat.

The heat is then radiated through the unit’s fan. The cooled liquid or cooled Freon enters the condenser that absorbs heat for its surroundings and then converts it into gas.

This is the process that makes cool air out of the air conditioner. The process is repeated until a room is cool. From all these air conditioner parts, the most important is the compressor.

The trusty Air Conditioner is a mainstay in most homes these days, but do you even know the basic parts that make up this appliance, much less how they work? Do you have even the slightest inkling how it manages to keep your home cool continuously? This knowledge is sure to come in handy when faced with air conditioning repairs.

Other Air Conditioner Parts

Other air conditioner parts are also vital to the whole process of cooling of an air conditioner. Other parts help the three major parts in their functions such as:

• Condenser Coil – consists of many tubes that are filled with refrigerant. It removes the heat from the heated gas refrigerant and converts it into liquid. The excess amount of heated gas is removed outside the unit.

• Fan – This part helps in dispersing the heated gas from the Condenser or Condenser Coil.

• Evaporator Coil – consists of many tubes that are also filled with refrigerant that removes heat from the heated gas as well as moisture from the air as the refrigerant turns into gas again.

• Air Handling Unit – it serves as a blower that moves air through the air ducts

• Air filter – it serves to trap or filter dust, pollen, and other air particles as air passes through the air conditioning system. It can also be considered important since the air filter is relied upon for the operation of the air conditioning unit as well as for the air conditioning unit’s health.

• Drainage lines or pipes – serves as the main drainage system of the water produced in the condensation process of the air conditioning unit.

• Drainage pan – it serves as an emergency location for the water is produced from the air conditioning unit from its condensation process. In the drainage lines or pipes doesn’t serve their purpose, the water is transferred here. It usually has an automatic off switch for the air conditioning unit that it uses when it is already filled with water.
